Stamp exchange lot from Germany (DDR)

January 11th, 2010 admin

Another day, another stamp exchange. This time the mailman brough an exchange cover from Berlin, Germany. Klaus sent me a cover containing 200 different East German (DDR) stamps. To my pleasure a notable proportion of them were real used. Of these I took 127 real used and 12 CTO used: And in return I’m sending

Cleaning up my bookshelf – stamp catalogs for exchange
I’m doing some cleaning at my stamp room (again), and would like to try something new to make a better use of some obscure, seriously outdated (especially pricewise) but hopefully still useful specialized stamp catalogs… So here comes an exchange offer that is open to all readers of the blog: I’ll exchange my unwanted specialized...

Young Collectors Becoming Scarce in Germany
According to an article on the Earthtimes.com website, “Time appears to have stood still in the 78-year-old stamp collecting shop on the Reinhardtstrasse in central Berlin. Anyway…While updating the summaries for my “open for all” stamp exchange page last night, I came up with  Read More →
A stamp dealer cover from US
Last week I received this cover along with my order from US stamp dealer.  It’s nice that he used real stamps for the postage, but sadly the postmaster had an artistic moment with blue ink pen. Besides the US lighthouses stamp issue, the cover has several stamps from the 1974 set to commemorate UPU centenary. In  Read More →
Unlisted print variety on German (BRD) stamp
Lately I’ve been re-organizing my collection of German stamps, and decided to share something not so common with You once again. This is 110 pfennig commemorative stamp from 1998 series displaying German State Parliaments. I’ts a pretty unimpressive looking stamp on the first view with some short perfs and machine cancellation. But if...

This is possibly one of the topics I wish I would never have to experience or write. But here I am typing this… Today’s mail brought me few exchange letters that were way off from my usual stamp exchange. After some digging I managed to find out that somebody had entered my details as  Read More →
